Fulton Farms Organic is part of Fulton Farms, a family farm in Troy, OH.
Fulton's has been a community institution for over 40 years, with family-friendly activities such as berry picking, a pumpkin patch, and cut-your-own Christmas trees.
The Pajev family has always been passionate about organic foods and healthy eating. Milan, a horticulturalist from Bulgaria, first came to Fulton Farms in 1998 through an International fellowship program at The Ohio State University College of Food, Agriculture, and Environmental Sciences. His wife Tanya joined him a few years later. With dreams of bringing organic agriculture to the Miami Valley, they started the Happy Box CSA Program in 2004.
Our Program served only 6 families from Dayton the first year, but has continued to grow rapidly ever since. 25 households signed up in year two, 80 in year three, and 200 in year four. Last year, we were proud to serve over 700 families and individuals in the greater Dayton area. From March to December 2012, we delivered about 20,000 boxes (300,000 pounds!) of organic produce to our participants.
Thanks to the constant support of the Fulton families, especially Bill and Joyce Fulton, we were able to manage the expanded production well as we learned new methods and increased the size of our team. We now have a full-time staff of 10 people dedicated to the craft and community of organic community supported agriculture. We take great pride in knowing and serving everyone who participates in the program!
Milan may be available to speak to your group about community supported agriculture and organic growing. Please contact Tanya Popova at firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule a posible visit.
