The Happy Box CSA Program

We offer 8 different services: Standard (small and regular), Premium (small and regular),Locavore (small and regular), Locavore premium (small and regular).  You can change service any time throughout the season.  Changes take place the first week of the month along with a 5$ service changing fee. 

1-The Standard Regular Service is the one we have been offering for the last 6 years. The cost is 31$ per week. The produce comes in a bushel size box that is big 20” X 13” X 13”. It holds 7 reusable plastic containers that most of the time contain over 20 lb of fresh organic fruits and vegetables. The purpose for using these plastic containers is to protect the produce additionally from rain, dust, and bruising during transportation. The variety of produce in this service depends on what is available for harvest from our farm and what is available from the distributor. (Image bellow) For busy families who don't have time to wash and dry their reusable plastic containers, we offer the same service without the plastic containers. The produce is exactly the same; just the packing is different- in single bulk cardboard box. Please mark on your application what kind of packing would you prefer.

2- The Standard Small Service is 22$ per week. The produce comes in a smaller 1/2 bushel size box that holds around 10-15lb of fruits and vegetables They are packed bulk without using any plastic containers. (Image bellow)

3-The Premium Regular Service allows customization of the box. The customers choose what kind of produce wants to receive often, occasionally or not at all. The cost is 36$/week, quantity of produce and containers are the same as the Standard Regular Service. There is also a choice of packing- with or without reusable plastic containers.

4- The Premium small service is 26$/week. It also allows customization. The quantity of produce and packaging is like the Standard small service.

 5 and 6- The Locavore Regular and Small Services offer produce that is strictly local-homegrown and in season. The cost, deposit, amount of produce, box and other regulations are just like the Standard services.  Locavore regular is 31$ week and Locavore small is 22$ per week.

7 and 8-The Locavore Premium Regular and Small Services   allows customization of the local produce. The cost, deposit, amount of produce, box and other regulations are like the Premium Services.  Locavore premium regular is 36$ week and Locavore premium small is 26$ week.

What kinds of produce is available through the Happy Box?

Our goal at the Happy Box is to make fresh, nutritious, and healthy fruits and vegetables available to the Greater Dayton Area.

Below is a brief overview of homegrown organic and/or imported certified organic produce that we typically offer throughout the season.

Very often, almost every week when in season

Apples, Bananas, Carrots, Cucumbers, Grapefruit, Lettuce, Oranges, Peppers, Potatoes,Radishes, Spinach,  Squash, Tomatoes, Zucchini

Often, about every other week when in season

Avocados,  Green Beans, Beets, Bok Choy, Broccoli, Cabbage, Celery, Chard,Cilantro, Eggplant, Grapes, Kale, Kiwi fruit, Kohlrabi, Lemons,Limes, Mango, Melons, Mixed baby greens, Mixed baby lettuce,Mustard greens, Onions and Garlics(green and bulb), Peas, Parsley,Pears, Pineapple, Plums, Strawberries, Sweet corn, Tatsoi, Watermelons, Yams

Seasonally,

Arugula, Asparagus, Blackberries, Blueberries, Cherries, Collard greens, Nectarines, Okra, Peaches, Raspberries, Rutabaga, Sunchokes, Turnips, Rutabagas
